8 Days Mt Everest Base Camp Tour
Overview
This journey is one of the most popular adventure tours in the world. It sees travelers cross the mighty Himalayas and experience the splendid panoramic heights of the world’s highest peaks. This is a round-trip tour starting in the mystical city of Lhasa. We will spend a few days in Lhasa, appreciating its prominent historical and religious sites like the breathtaking Potala Palace, and the divine Jokhang Temple.
In addition, we will visit the expansive Drepung and Sera monasteries. These first couple of days also help our visitors recover from jet lag. Before we embark on our journey into the Himalayan region, we will view the holy Yamdrok Lake, the magnificent Karo la glaciers, the mystical Gyantse Khubum stupa, and the Tashi Lhunpo monastery. These sites will repeatedly stir you with admiration and appreciation and keep the trip memorable throughout our eight-day excursion. After seeing the gorgeous golden face of the sun as it reflects off Mount Everest, we will trek into Nepal. We will descend steeply into the valley of Mutsang Tsangpo.

Tour Plan
Our representatives greet you at the airport/train station. It is a short drive to holy Lhasa city along the Lhasa River. This is within a valley enclosed by barren mountains. Far before reaching the city, you will see the magnificent Potala Palace appearing from the rest of the city. This is done by perching on a red hill. We will get to the hotel in the old part of the town. This is also known as the Tibetan area which is centered on the mystical Jokhang temple and the bustling Bakhor street.
In the following couple of days, we have thoughtfully planned a few worthy visits to some world heritages and sites of breathing Tibetan Buddhists along acclimation and alleviating Jet-lag, you have plenty of time to walk shoulder to shoulder with devoted local pilgrims in the bustling Bakhor street, it is also a real pleasure to explore the busy cobbled lanes twisting around the aged buildings in the supernatural Drepung and Sera monastery, and our knowledgeable guides enhance your experiences with a thorough historical and cultural explanation.
It is easy to explore the town and hang around Bakhor Street during your leisure time these days. In addition, we arrange special experiences such as a short visit to a typical Tibetan village family. We also arrange to receive rare sacred blessings from high lamas and local pilgrims as per the client’s interest.
After a couple of days of acclimation, you dare to drive over the Gampa la pass and Karo la pass to Gyantse and Shigatse in the western Tibetan plateau, along the upstream of the Brahmaputra river we climb up the Gampa la(4900m) through numbers of switch-backs, from the pass you will be amazed by the breathtaking view of the holy Lake Yamdrok and snow-capped Mt. Nyenchen Kangsar in the background, then Gyantse and Shigatse via bloomy glaciers and scattered villages.
Gyantse and Shigatse are known for their historical and religious value. Since ancient times, Gyantse has been known as a hero’s town as British troops were defeated by Gyantse guerrillas in 1904. Moreover, these regions have different cultures and traditions than Lhasa. There we will visit Gyantse Kubhum Stupa and Tashi Lhunpo monastery.
To prevent altitude sickness, we gradually ascend into the mountainous Himalayan terrain by traversing a few remarkable passes. You will have the first panorama of the Himalayans from the ridge of Gyatsola Pass (5400m), with snow-capped peaks standing out like warriors among soldiers. Through the barren mountains but astonishing landscapes and photogenic villages within the hilly valleys we approach the world's highest peak-Mt. Everest with an altitude of 8844.4m.
The picturesque view of the Young Everest appears right in front of you within the Rongbuk valley, spending a night at the foot of the world's tallest mountain, a short hike of 6 km from the tent guesthouse community to the EBC marker is challenging but memorable too, herds of wild goats are disguised in the rocky mountains, EBC is the most popular campsite for mountaineers, usually in March and April the area is blooming with different colors of mountaineering camps from all over the world. Our farewell to the mighty peak is responded to by its striking golden glow in the morning sunshine. We retrace the road back to Lhasa.

Hi, I am interested in this tour. But I cannot exert myself much and was wondering if I can skip the Kailash Kora and use other forms of transportation. I do however want to see Mt. Kailash. Also are you able to provide oxygen?
Permit application:
Tibet travel permit process takes around 22 days and we need 3 days to send you the permit in mainland China . We also need your passport and China visa copy for the permit application. Please send me clear photos or scan copies. If your China Visa is not an “L” visa, then you must also provide additional documents such as student certificates, work permits, residence permits and so on. If you enter Tibet by plane, you need original permit which we will mail it to your last hotel in mainland China, if you by train, only need copy of the permit, which we will send you by email. Tour Information:
