Zhalu Monastery-Tibet.

Zhalu monastery is located in Gyantse and it was founded by Chetsun Sherab Jungne in the name of his teacher Loden Dorjee who fired an arrow where the current monastery is erected. There is a retreat called Ripuk which was built during eleventh century where the great Atisha spent some months in Zhalu while on his way to the central Tibet in 1045 to retreat. Zhalu is about 19 KM before Shigatse. Mostly the monastery is open for the public yet you might need special permit from government to visit Segoma and Gosum Chapels on the ground floor.
