The partridge is a wild bird with brown feathers, a round body, and a short tail breeds on the many areas such as Indian,Nepal,Sikkim,Bhutan and Western China,especially distributed in the Tibetan Plateau.It is a non-migratory terrestrial species.In winter, it will moves to lower altitude desert plains, and move in pairs to the snowline in summer.It likes live in high meadows with bushes, dwarf juniper or other scrubs.
The partridge has the brown back, blackish belly patch but the forehead, broad supercilium,face and throat are white,which contrasts with the rufous collar.Besides,there is a broad black stripe runs down below its eyes.
The partridge is feed on herbs and the buds of shrubs, leaves, fruits, mosses, lichens, and other little insects.
Today,the Tibetan Partridge become an endangered species native to China and often inaccessible range on the Tibetan Plateau.
