This story happened in the past half century,during the period of the democratic reform in Tibet and reflects the socio-historic changes.It is told a story between two friends:Tenzin(child of the manor)and Phurbu(serf of Tenzin).Tenzin and Phurbu are childhood friends.Due to the huge gap between their identities and families,they become enemies when they grow up.Phurbu,the serf,nearly died because the mistake of Tenzin.In order to save his master,Phurbu atoned for Tenzin’s sin.He starts his life as a lama in the name of Tenzin.Thus the all chants and all his prayers he makes shall be owned by Tenzin.After the liberation,the emotional conflicts of people’s pursuit of equality and freedom become more and more strong.Phurbu woke up and then begin to ask back his name,identity and freedom.
