Tibet Travel Permit Update on Aug 13th, 2014
Tibet Travel Permit for Mt.Kailash Tours and far western Tibet is remained under a strict restrictions, though it was reopened end of June after a month closure, but despite the age restriction (only age of belwo 70s are allowed to get the permit), now it need at least 3 people from the same country nationality in a group, even mulitiple nationalities in a same group is not able to get the Kailash permit.
Note: Some part of the road near the Nepal border is badly damaged due a landslide couple of weeks ago, so Kailash permit to coming and going from Nepal by land is also restricted, therefore you have to only fly into Lhasa first.
FYI: you should book your tour at least 20 days in advance to get the Tibet travel permit on time.
Norwagians are still difficult to get the Tibet permit for the time.
If there is any changes in the permit policy, we will update here in the first minutes, so please check back with us, and feel free to write us an email at [email protected].
