Manilkara zapota is native to southern Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean,and a few planted in Tibetan area.It is a long-lived, evergreen tree. The shape of Tibet Manilkara zapota fruit is nearly round, oblate and oval.It usually has a distinct curved hook on one margin, and varies from 5cm to 10 cm in width and it about 2 cm long.It is hard gummy and very astringent immature.The skin is brown and glossy when until fully ripe. The flesh ranges in color from yellowish to reddish-brown and may be of a granular texture or smooth.The fresh of Tibet Manilkara zapota is soft and juicy and sweet,just a little resemble to a pear or crunchy brown sugar. Some fruits are seedless, but normally there may be from 3 to 12 seeds in the center of the fruit.
