Thousands of Tibetans Gathered in Bakhor to Celebrates the Butter Lamp Festival

The butter lamp festival is also called Ganden Ngacho in Tibetan, all the Tibetan festivals are based on Tibetan lunar calendar and this Ganden Ngacho was fall on Dec 16th and thousands of Tibetans gathered in the Bakhor street to celebrate it.

Ganden Ngacho is the anniversary of commemorating the famous Buddhist scholar Tsongka Pa, so Tibetans light butter lamps in their home and most of the monasteries light hundreds of butter lamps and hold ritual ceremony to commemorate the great Tsongka Pa scholar.
