Tibet is popularly renowned for her religious and spiritual commitment since A.D. She is blessed with religion environment and People of the Tibet are very spiritual and religious ethic group. Palden Lhamo is an Indian deity and brought to Tibet by the great King Songtsen Gampo in 647 A.D when the Buddhism is spread over the snowy plateau, Palden Lhamo is resided in Jhokhang ever since then. Tibetan Buddhist beliefs that she is the protector of the Tibet. Every year we have numbers of big religious festival and Pal Lhamo festival is one of the major festival in Lhasa,Tibet. Pal Lhamo festival fall on the 15th day of the 10th month every year based on Tibetan calendar and which fall on 25th Nov, 2015 based on western calendar this year. As there is a myth about the festival; Due to the evil wishes of her mother, Pal Lhamo was born an ugly face in the shape of frog and she could only able to meet her beloved Tritsugtsen on the 15th day of the 10th month every year. On this specific day an annual ritual is held in Jhokhang in Lhasa, Tibet. On the day, the image of the goddess will be displayed on the periphery of the Jokhang Temple next to Songtsen Gampo. The Barkor Street is filled with pious. On the hustling and bustling street of Barkor, everyone is in queue and trying to get an audience and blessing from the wrath deity. It’s also said to be Tibetan women’s Day because she avidly protected women and children. Men in the families would give some money to all the ladies in their family as a gift but these days a new version of system has been favored by the women in Tibet and they started asking money from men. It has become a custom that women have the special privilege of asking for money from men, who cannot reject it by any means. From the early morning around 1 A.M. People formed queues till late evening. You will hardly get an enough space to circumambulating the Barkor as usual. Thousands of people gathered in front of Jhokhang: praying, worshiping, offering Khada and dancing with joy.
