This temple is reached by continuing down the same alley on which is located the old Meru temple and then turning left at the end. This brings you out into a small courtyard facing the entrance of the monastery. It’s affiliated with Nechung Monastery near the Drepung and is mainly involved in the performance of rituals to the various protectors of the Nyingma, Sakya and Geluk traditions. The main protector is Dorje Drakde, the deity who speaks through the Nechung oracle and is relied on by the Tibetan.
