Medog County, a small town in the Tibet autonomous region with a population over 11,000. Due to its low elevations, Medog County has a favorable climate than other Tibet area. “Medog” means a flower spiritual, which means the people who enter into Medog can get purification. Besides, the well-preserved environment of Medog County and its biodiversity can attract many tourists every year.
Medog County was China’s last county without a highway link except a vital roadway–the Medog Highway. And this road is the most beautiful but dangerous road in the world.
From May to October every year, the Medog Highway has received a lot of rain and it is easily subjected to mudslides. Besides, from October to April, the highway will suffer snowstorms. Thus, there are about 161 people take responsible for this road. Their job duty is varies, such as clearing the road of snow and mudslides and repairing damaged sections.
