The sand-painting usually takes several days to complete, and it will be destroyed shortly after its completion. This just like a teaching metaphor in Tibet for Buddhist, and the flying sand just like the impermanence of life.
When the monks begin to start the painting, sand for painting will carefully be placed on a large, flat table. They will use brushes to draw the outlines, and then put the stone-made sand into a special-made cone. The most difficult part is that they should control the measurement of the sand. Patting light or heavy, the colorful sand was leaking from a tiny hole of a steel pipe more or less. Finally, the different colors of sand leakage in the template will create a beautiful painting.
The process of doing the sand painting will require a lot of effort, because even a slight wind could disperse the sand and destroy the painting.
