Tibet Travel Permit Update on May 3rd, 2014

Tibet tourism bureau had a meeting on April 30th and informed that the travel permit for Mt.Kailash Tours would open till May 23rd and after the date the Tibet Travel Permit for Kailash region would be difficult to get. There is still no any clear official information about how long the restriction will last for, and hopefully we will get an official informatoin soon. However, during these days, there are lots of rumors online saying only a few companies are allowed to get the permit to Kailash, which is not true at all. The good news is, if you are planning trips to other parts of Tibet, like Mt Everest, around Lhasa, Namtso lake, etc, then getting the permit won’t be a problem. Same as last year, Norwagians are still difficult to get the permit for the time. We are hoping there will be some changes soon and we will update here in the first minute if there is any official information received, so please check back with us, and feel free to write us an email at [email protected].
