My travel story " 7 days friendship highway tour"
Bennie and I have seen a lot of the world, but our trip and exploration of Tibet was by far the most memorable. First, it was a pleasure to do business with the professional and well organized staff of Explore Tibet travel agency. Our guide Rin and expert driver, Tashi, made our 7 days a grand learning experience and pleasure. From Lhasa and the Potala Palace to the Sera Monastery where we witnessed Buddhist Monks engage monks in training through animated philosophical debate of Buddhist scriptures; to Gyanste and the Kumbum Stupa which is Tibet’s largest stupa; to Shigaste where we saw the Shalu Monastery where Tibetan translations were recorded and the Tashi Lumpo Monastery which was built by the 1st Dalai Lama; and then driving to an altitude height of 5280 meters and then downhill to the Nepal border – all enlightening and exhilarating! We would recommend Explore Tibet to anyone who wants to see both the stupendous scenery at the top of the world, and learn about its present culture and its past history. We of course saw many more sights than listed, so for a more complete pictorial exploration click on the Snapfish link.
