Raod to Gyirong Border Was Closed
The road to Gyirong border in China’s Xizang was closed due the flood on 27th Sept.
The heavy rainfall on the Sept 27th and 28th in the Gyirong/Kyirong region some roads in the Gyirong county and around had some problems, according to the Gyirong Meteorological Observatory result, till the 2pm of Sept 28th, precipitation I Gyirong town was 241mm, Drothang village was 132.2mm, Salhe village was 118.9mm and Gongthang village was 25.7mm.
Due to the immediate respond by the Gyirong county government, the major roads within the county were cleared and all the roads from Gyirong County to Shigatse and Gyirong town traffic resumed.
At the China Frontier K3522+500 on G216 between Gyirong town and Gyirong border was temporarily impassable, because of large flow of water and flood, so by concerning travelers’ safety issue, the Gyirong Traffic Policy department has implemented temporarily two-way traffic closure.
