The Kharta Valley trek within the alpine terrain of the mighty Himalayan is the best Trekking Tibet choice for experienced trekkers and adventurers. For this  Khata Trekking Tour, you should be physically fit and should be well-acclimatized before starting the Kama Valley Trek.

So after a couple of days of acclimation and resting in Lhasa with a mild visit to the mystical Potala palace, some divine temples, and monasteries, we gradually extend the way into the soaring peaks of the great Himalayan.

Finally, the bumpy road along the Bumchu River traces the road to Kharta Valley Trekking, the thrilling but challenging hiking traverse of several high passes and beautiful glacial lakes, then through the fertile Karma valley to Khangshung Everest Base Camp and blooming Khangshung glacier in the Pethang Ringmo meadow, it offers dramatic close-up views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Lotse.

Then you can climb across the alpine valleys and passes back to Kharta and descend down to Lhasa. The Kama Valley Trek is a very special trek and will give you the opportunity to savor a region of astonishing natural beauty and the detailed route of the trek could be checked through the Kharta Trekking Map on the right side.

A short flight to Tibet give you a panorama of the snowy Himalayan ranges or the days of the train ride over high plateau by crossing the mighty Thangu la ranges get you to Lhasa with beautiful sceneries along the route. At your arrival at the Gonggar airport or Lhasa Train Station. Our Tibetan guide and driver will greet and transfer to your hotel in Lhasa city. From the airport it is about 70km to Lhasa and it takes 1:30 hrs, from the train station it is only 25km and it takes about half hour, check in the hotel and take it easy for the rest of the day to acclimatize and alleviate the jet lag. Overnight in Lhasa.
Attractions; Potala palace, Jokhang temple and bustling Bakhor street. Today is your first day on the high plateau and some of you may have little headache which is very common for travelers by the high altitude, so drinking enough water and mild activity on the first few days is important. In the morning, our guide will meet you at the hotel and take an easy visit to Jokhang Temple in the Centre of the Old Lhasa city. Jokhang temple is the most sacred temple in all over Tibet and it is always bustling with earnest local pilgrims. After you visit inside the temple you have time to walk around the Bakhor street which is the one of the most devotional circuit as well as crowded central market of Lhasa since from long time, in the early days it is the most famous local market but now it is changed to tourist gift shopping Centre. In the afternoon we will visit the famous Potala Palace, the cardinal landmark of Tibet and the masterpiece of Tibetan architecture, it was first built by 33rd King Songtsen Gangpo in 7th century and later in 17th century rebuilt by 5th Dalai Lama, since then it was home to the Dalai Lama and his government. Continues acclimatize and alleviate jet lag rest of the day. Overnight in Lhasa.
Attractions; Drepung monastery and Sera monastery. Today we will visit Drepung Monastery in the morning, once the world's largest monastery that housed for more than 10,000 monks. It was a resident of the Dalai Lama prior to Potala Palace, destructions were taken place in different time but still you have lots things to see, walking through numbers of narrow and twisted lane through the monks apartments is more like a typical village. The amazing day will end with a visit to the Sera Monastery that is built in the fifteenth century by the Jamchen choji Sakya Yeshi. Who is disciple of Tsongka pa, few different monastic colleges in Sera is home to several hundred monks from different part of Tibet, the famous Buddhist philosophical debates among the monks are happening every day in the afternoon except Sunday. Continues acclimatize and alleviate jet lag rest of the day. Overnight in Lhasa.
Attractions; Yamdrok lake, Mt.Nyechen Kangsar glacier, Gyantse Khubum stupa and Pelkhor Choede monastery. In the morning we are driving to Shigatse where you are visiting the Turquoise lake, Yamdrok (4300m) crossing the zigzag high Khamba pass (4990m). Then lunch stop at Nakartse town(4400m) drive via Karo pass (5039m) you are going to see the Nyenchenkhangsar glacier (7191m) and another road driving to Gyangtse(3900m) or sometime its called the Hero’s Town where you are going to visit Kumbum monastery under the yellow hat sect. Moreover, you can see the Palchoe stupa erected during 1427 at the time of 1st Panchen Lama. That is kind of magnified stupa containing 100 thousand of wall paintings, murals, statues with the height of 32.4m itself around five floors to climb up in clock wise... O/n Gyangtse.
Attractions; Shalu monastery and Tashilhunpo monastery. Today we will drive from Hero’s town of Gyantse to Shigatse via Shalu monastery. This established in the 11th century. The monastery is the only one in Tibet that designed in Tibetan and Chinese style since in the 14thcentury the most part of the monastery was damaged by the earthquake. When the time of renovation, there are many Chinese artisans were employed in the reconstruction at that time. Otherwise, the design of the monastery represents the paradise of Chenresig (compassionate Buddha), a heaven from all worldly sufferings. After the short visit to Shalu we are driving to Shigatse. There we will visit the Tashi Lhunpo monastery, which is the one of the biggest functioning monastery in the western Tibet, it was build in 1447 and treasury tombs of successive Panchen Lamas are preserved in the monastery and it is great pleasure to walking into the twisted lanes through the aged buildings in the monastery, if you like hiking it is worth to make the circumambulating around the monastery following the footstep of pilgrims. Overnight in Shigatse.
Attractions; Tsola pass (4500m) and Sakya monastery. We drive via Tsola pass (4500m) and able to reach the Sakya monastery (4280m), another sect of Tibet and checking the ATP there. This monastery is unique that all ash grey with white and red vertical stripes. As the name, Sakya means grey color in Tibetan. As the coloring symbolizes the Rigsum Gonpo (the trinity of bodhisattvas) .Where, the monastery is divided into two parts dividing by the river called Zong chu or Trum chu. Then after lunch there, you are driving to Old Tingri by crossing one of the highest pass called Gyatso (5147m) leads you to Shegar. While driving downstream we are crossing so many shifts and some of the Nayak (wild goat) can be there near by the riverside. There is a hot spring near the road before getting to Shegar, locals coming here to take bath and specially to cure some small disease. Passing many of the local villages and some nomadic tents, we reach to Shegar, the gateway to the Everest region.  Overnight Shegar.
Attraction: Kharta valley. Today we will drive to the high Phangla pass (5100m), where from the top you can see the five marvelous majestic peaks. All of these five peaks are above 8000m. Namely; Makalu (8463m), Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Everest (8844.43m), Mt.Cho Oyu  (8201m) and Mt. Shishabama(8012m). Wondering the magnificent mountain scenery, we will continue drive to Tashi Zom village. It is a small traditional village surrounded by high peaks and hiking places for adventure seekers. After taking a short break at the village, we are moving to the Kharta valley from the village. The road on the left side is to Kharta valley and to the right is to Everest region. By driving along the Dzakar Chu (river), and Phung Chu lead us to the campsite.
Attraction: Rivers and Glaciers.  Our trekking starts from today and our trek is for 3hours. Crossing the rocky ranges and paths, we will see so much of the snow-covered lands, running rivers at the sides and some of the wild goats and wild asses hang here and there. While crossing the Kharta Yulbaa these wild animals are here and there and be ready for your best shots. Where on our trek we will see the east face of Everest. Lhundrubling is a famous camping spot and many of hikers spent the second night here located at Kharta Yulbaa. Overnight camping.
Attraction: Everest View and Himalayan ranges. From Lhundrubling as we move towards the Shao pass, the most attraction is the view of Himalayan peaks and Everest view. The massive Himalayans are at a distance watching your steps getting near to it. However, yak pastures and meandering valleys are today’s special attractions as well. We also pass through the impressive groves and dwarf bushes. Nevertheless, our campsite is not too far, Joksam is our campsite surrounded by pine and fir forests that is one of the most attractive views for today’s trek. Overnight camping.
Attraction: Conifer forest and herder’s camp. We will ascend through a wondrous conifer forest ridgeline as we leave the valley. Today if we are lucky and the weather is clear then we will see the wonders of the Mt. Makalu (8463m), and other high mountains. Along which we will also pass some of the herder’s camp and lakes. However, today is going to be a difficult day for us and we will spend the night near the cave that is located in the Khangshung valley. Overnight camping.
Attraction: Karma valley and river. Today will be a more relaxed day with less trekking. It will give you a chance to truly appreciate and soak in the beauty that surrounds you. The ancient spirituality of this area as you explore sacred shelters and prayer rooms found in the cave. The silence of this area is truly amazing that you can’t imagine. And here you can find sacred lakes nearby as well. Overnight camping.
Attraction: Views of Everest and Qomo Lhunzo.  The shepherd trail is the best way to trek for today, as it will take us the amazing ways full of meadows and steep slopes that is a challengeable hiking for all of us. Once we cross the hillside by following the shepherd trail, we will come into the amazing view of Mt.Everest and Qomo Lhunzo (glacier). And we will fix our camp amid yak pastures. Overnight camping.
Attraction: Khangshung face.  Gigantic peaks are not so far from our camping, as we move for some hours we will see the extraordinary peaks starring us. Khangshung face is normally covers by the clouds yet the view is amazing. Wondering around the peaks and also the North East ridge, we will cross to our campsite that is back to Hoppo. Overnight camping.
Attraction: Makalu and Noth of Langma pass. Today we are taking the trail in another valley that leads us the north of the Langma pass. Makalu can be seen nearly the entire trip of our trekking day. It is an amazing experience to camp at the base of such a large pass after viewing the unique peaks in our life. Overnight camping.
Attraction: Views of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. After breakfast, we will climb up the high pass with all our efforts and let us enjoy the way down to the pass after viewing the three of 8000m peaks namely; Makalu, Everest and Lhotse. Then by en routing the Kharta valley we will pass the lines of herder’s camp and the friendly nomadic. We will continue our trek to Lhundrubling. Overnight camping.
Attraction: Rivers and Glaciers.  Our last day of trekking is a somewhat relaxing one as we make our way to Kharta and take in the local sights and sounds. So enjoy your every step on this altitude. Overnight camping.
From today, we are driving back to Lhasa. Therefore, everything is already visited and you can stop for shots if you miss on the way to Kharta. Overnight Lhatse.
After breakfast, we drive back to Lhasa via Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. Gyangtse, the hero’s town. Yamdrok, the turquoise lake. Today is long driving day for all of us. Overnight Lhasa.
Today is your second last day of your trip you are going to visit Norbulingka and buying gifts for you dear and near ones. There is no guide and driver for you today. Overnight Lhasa.
Now you are leaving from Tibet and you are going to send off by our staff to train station or Lhasa Airport.

We are 3 people that will travel from Chengdu to Lahsa by train, arriving around August 5th. We want to take 4 days tour in Lhasa.  We need to know how to book the tour with you, the price, how to pay it and what are the documents we need to go there. We will get our tourist visa to visit China after we book the tour. Two of us will travel form Chile in South America and our son -also chilean- will do it form South Africa. Stay tuned to reply
